About me

I'm so excited you are here!

My name is Betsy and I’m coach, consultant, writer and wellbeing leader with over 20 years of experience. My passion has always been helping people.  Whether it’s through consulting, coaching or leading professional development, it has always been about the helping people and organizations to succeed.

Feminine power is silent, dark, mysterious, healing, nurturing. A woman can walk into a room and control it if she knows where her power is.

From Burnout...

Like many, I had a demanding job.  One with frequent travel, mostly international.  I balanced global responsibilities, which meant my days started early to meet with Europe, and ran late to meet with Asia, and of course a full day of meetings on US time zones.  I usually ran from meeting to meeting, without breaks, and often double and triple-booked at times.  And of course, I won’t even go into the multi-tasking of countless emails and IM’s all throughout.

I came home from work drained, and over time it took its toll. I was burnt-out and dealing with the side effects of chronic stress. Simply put, I was depleted. No one was getting my best energy, not my family, my job and least of all me. Sound familiar?

At the time, I was responsible for the professional development of 2,000 finance employees around the world for a Fortune 100 company and teaching courses and workshops around the globe.  But we never really taught anyone how to manage stress or balance their professional and personal lives to be more successful.  And yet studies show high-achievers are more likely to burn out.

Transformation

...to Wellbeing Leader

To manage my stress, I embarked on wellness journeys for my vacations. I took a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR).  I even became a certified health coach just to be able to help improve my own wellbeing.

Some companies have begun to address wellbeing in the workplace.  But too often these programs were run as part of the benefits group, and too often felt work adjacent.  Being able to thrive in the workplace is about fundamentally changing the way in which we work so that wellbeing and professional self-care are part integrated with the work you do.

I coach individuals on how to thrive at work and in life. And I also work with companies to create workplaces where employees can thrive, build essential wellness competencies and wellness leadership capabilities.

When not collaborating with clients or creating new courses, you’ll find me traveling to spas all over the world and promoting a spa lifestyle, via my spa travel and lifestyle guide, LovetoSpa.com.

I’ve been featured in Authority Magazine and Huffington PostBustle, and Elite Daily, among others.  I also have an assortment of certifications in health and executive coaching, mindfulness, and overcoming emotional eating (guilty!).

Women in Leadership

For women in leadership, there can be unique challenges to thrive in all aspects of your life. Too often we still have the larger share of household responsibilities and childcare.  The pandemic showed that all too clearly, with many women struggling and dropping out of the workforce in order to oversee their kids. Thriving and leading in the workplace as women requires tailored content and transparent discussions.
